About the event

The concert you are enjoying today is the result of a well orchestrated handoff from Brookings Harbor Friends of Music to PPA. The PPA Board of Directors offers its deepest gratitude and appreciation to Friends of Music for entrusting us with its nearly 40-year legacy of presenting world-renowned musicians, and for its sustaining philanthropic support.

One of the greatest challenges facing young people today is the cost of higher education. We know that access to education is the “launching pad” that makes careers and dreams possible.

Friends of Music wisely established a tradition of awarding young musicians with scholarships to help support their studies. The scholarship recipients are selected through a competition led by Dr. Alexander Tutunov of Southern Oregon University. It’s our pleasure to announce the awardees through a special annual concert at which we showcase their talents.

Please join us in thanking the donors to Friends of Music, and Nick and Lisa Rail, who together now provide funds for four scholarships each year.
